Böröcz made this print in Martha's Vineyard at The Indian Hill Press. He was inspired by the birds of that Island and by Darwin's writings. The birds’ beaks are transformed here to everyday tools. This print was the catalyst for his later Ostrich Egg Bird series, where he carved special beaks and shoes for his bird sculptures.
